1 Pickup Attempt Label

A driver delivers a return shipping label to your customer and collects the item for return. If the package cannot be picked up on the first attempt, the return label will be left at the pickup location.

3 Pickup Attempt Label

A driver delivers a return shipping label to your customer and collects the item for return. If the package cannot be picked up on the first attempt, there will be two more pickup attempts over the next two business days.

Accessible Hazardous Materials

Accessible Dangerous Goods: Class 1.4 Explosives, Class 2.1 Flammable Gas, Class 2.2 Non-Flammable Gas in Cargo Aircraft Only (CAO) quantities, Class 3 Flammable Liquid, Class 4 Flammable Solid, Dangerous When Wet, Class 5 Oxidizers and Organic Peroxides and Class 8 Corrosives.

Additional Handling

An Additional Handling charge will be assessed for any package that requires special handling. Only one Additional Handling charge will be assessed, in the following order: Weight, Length, Width, Packaging.

Address Correction

An address may be corrected or completed based on information obtained from the shipper or consignee. An Address Correction charge will be assessed to the shipper for an address correction or completion.

Authorized Return Service

Returns made easy. Return labels are printed and provided to you for domestic return shipment distribution. You may include these return labels within an outbound shipment or distribute the label separately.

Carbon-neutral

CO2 emissions associated with the transport of your package are calculated, and carbon offsets are purchased to balance out the CO2 impact. The shipping label will include a Carbon-neutral indicator.

Certificate of Origin

A certification attesting to the imported product’s originating status. Can be prepared on behalf of the shipper for exported goods manufactured and originating within the U.S.

Chargeback for Consignee Billing Shipments

In the event of non-payment by the consignee or third party, the original shipper will be billed a refusal fee in addition to the shipping charges.

Collect on Delivery (C.O.D.) Services

Payment is sent to you after an attempt to collect the amount shown on C.O.D. tag or package label. If payment cannot be collected after three attempts, the package will be returned.

Daily On-Route Pickup

A driver makes a pickup at your location once each business day while making deliveries in your area, even if there are no packages delivered to your location.

Daily Pickup

Monday through Friday, a driver makes a scheduled stop at your location once each business day to pick up outbound shipments. A weekly service charge applies, based on weekly invoice amount. Available for all service types.

Day-Specific Pickup

A driver automatically stops at your location Monday through Friday. You decide which days are best for you. The weekly service fee will vary based on the number of pickup days selected.

Declared Value for Carriage

The liability for loss or damage for each domestic or international shipment, or to each pallet in a freight shipment is limited to $100.00 without a declaration of value. Declared value charges can be included in charges billed to receivers or third parties.

Delivery Area Surcharge

A surcharge applies to each package delivered to certain ZIP Codes within the 48 contiguous states. The Delivery Area Surcharge is assessed to reflect the cost of providing service to remote locations.

Delivery Reattempt

Available for International shipments. For Export Priority Freight and Import Priority Freight, one delivery attempt is included in the rate. Additional delivery attempts may have additional charges.

Delivery Change Request

Available for domestic and international shipments. After receiving notice that delivery has occurred or will occur, consignees may request that EPISHIP hold a package for will call at a customer center.

Delivery Confirmation

Confirmation of delivery is sent by mail, and includes the delivery date, either the name of the recipient or the package disposition, and the reason for the return in an event of a return.

Delivery Intercept

As a shipper, after you tender your package, you can request that the package is returned to you or to reroute the package to a new address.

Delivery to Addressee Only

Recipient of delivery must present identification upon delivery. Service is intended for sensitive mail including confidential legal documents, classified documents, important contracts, and high-value packages or papers.

Destination Outside Service Area

Shipment destination is outside of service range. If delivery of a 1Day package is requested to a destination outside the 1Day service area, EPISHIP reserves the right to assess an additional fee.

Detention of Vehicle

Detention is billed per container and per day, and the charged amount will vary per location, carrier and container type. Detention of Vehicle fees apply on the expiration of the applicable free time allowed.

Direct Delivery Only

Except for shipper requests, where available, the package may not be re-directed, re-routed or delivered to an alternate address. Available for residential and commercial delivery.

Dry Ice

Most non-Dangerous Goods shipments containing dry ice are accepted without requiring the shipper to enter into the EPISHIP Dangerous Goods Agreement (contract). The IATA “Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods” is not required for domestic shipments of non-Dangerous Goods packed in dry ice. 49 C.F.R. Shipping Papers are only required for non-medical shipments containing more than 5.5 pounds of dry ice.

Duty

A government tax imposed on imported goods. The Duty fee is often associated with customs, in which context they are also known as tariffs or dues.

Duty and Tax Forwarding Charge

A Duty and Tax Forwarding Charge applies when the shipper requests that the duties & taxes be billed to a payor outside of the
destination country. The third party’s EPISHIP account number is required.

Early Surcharge

The Early Surcharge is an additional fee for next-day delivery typically before 10:30 am to most business locations or before 4:30 pm to most residential locations. Available to select locations.

Electronic Return Label

An electronic return label is provided to your customer through a variety of formats, including e-mail, tracking results or with a mobile barcode on a mobile device. Request that EPISHIP transmit a return label to your customer.

Extended Area Surcharge

An Extended Area Surcharge applies to shipments for some international origins and destinations. The Extended Area Surcharge is applied to reflect the cost of providing service to remote locations.

Hold for Pickup

Package is to a selected pickup location and recipient is called for pickup, usually by 8:30 a.m. on the scheduled day of delivery. Apply a Hold for Pickup label above the address label on the package. Labels can be ordered from EPISHIP.

Inaccessible Hazardous Material

Inaccessible Dangerous Goods: Class 2.2 Non-Flammable Gas in Passenger (PAX) and Limited (LQ) quantities, Class 6 Toxic and Infectious Substances, Class 7 Radioactive Material and Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Substances.

Large Package Surcharge

For domestic shipments, a package is considered a “Large Package” when its length (longest side of the package) plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 130 inches or its length exceeds 96 inches. For international shipments, a package is considered a “Large Package” when its length (longest side of the package) plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined exceeds 130 inches.

Liftgate Service

Liftgate equipment on trailers is available for customers who do not have a shipping or receiving dock and cannot load or unload their shipment without liftgate assistance. Liftgate service must be requested, as not all trailers are equipped with liftgate devices.

Missing PLD

A processing fee will be charged when the shipper does not provide all applicable Package Level Detail (PLD) information prior to delivery. Missing PLD applies per package for both domestic and international services.

Missing/Invalid Account Number or Refusal Fee

A processing fee will be charged for a missing or invalid account number when the account number is missing, the account number is not the correct number for the bill-to party, the account number is for a receiver or third party who fails to pay the shipping charges or the package is shipped to an unauthorized consignee.

Non-Conforming Freight

Shipments that are unusually shaped, non-stackable, difficult to handle or require special handling in transit (to prevent damage to the shipment, the other shipments it may come in contact with or the equipment). Non-conforming freight may be subject to service delays and additional charges.

Non-Machinable Charge

A nonmachinable shipment is sorted outside of the standard automated mail process. A surcharge applies since the shipment costs more to process. An example is a shipment that contains items such as keys, pens, or coins that cause the thickness of the package to be uneven.

On-Call Pickup

With one pickup request, EPISHIP will pick up all of your packages at your residential or business location. Fees are applied per pickup request regardless of the number of packages being picked up.

Over Maximum Limits

Packages with an actual weight of more than 150 pounds, or that exceed 108 inches in length or exceed a total of 165 inches in length plus girth [(2 x width) + (2 x height)] combined, as measured to determine their billable weight, are not accepted for transportation.

Oversize Pallet Handling Surcharge

Export Priority Freight and Import Priority Freight pallets that exceed the maximum size or weight restrictions (which vary by origin and destination) require prior approval and are subject to an Oversize Pallet Handling Surcharge.

Package Tracking, Tracing and Refund Requests

The shipper may be subject to an additional charge per request for excessive tracking, tracing, and refund requests.

Payer Rebilling Fee

An additional handling fee will be assessed for each request to change the billing account for a shipment. Requests to change billing instructions are accepted up to 90 days from the invoice date.

Peak Surcharge

A Peak Surcharge applies to Large Packages, packages that are Over Maximum Limits, and packages that require Additional Handling, for qualifying customers who at any time during the Peak Period ship more than 1,000 packages per week or ship more than 10 packages per week that otherwise qualify for any of the Peak Surcharges.

Print and Mail Return Label

Return label is printed upon your request and sent to your customer, via First-Class Mail, who then applies the label to the package. This service is often used for product recalls.

Print Return Label

You print the return label and include it in an outbound shipment or distribute separately to your customer, who then applies the label to the package. There is an additional per-package service charge.

Proof of Delivery (P.O.D.)

Proof of Delivery of a shipment can be requested after the shipment has been delivered. Includes the time of delivery, full delivery address and the name and signature of the person who accepted your shipment, if available.

Redelivery

Redelivery service fee occurs when the carrier attempts to deliver shipment, but is unsuccessful. Additional delivery attempts may have additional charges.

Remote Area Surcharge

A Remote Area Surcharge applies to deliveries to certain ZIP Codes within Alaska and Hawaii and select origins and destinations. A remote location is defined by the distance of the address from the nearest service center.

Residential Surcharge

A surcharge will apply (in addition to all applicable Area Surcharges) to any delivery to, or a pickup request from, a location that is a residence, including a business operating out of a home.

Returns Exchange

Insurance for your high-value product returns and replacements. A guarantee to your customer that you’ll receive the return item in order to avoid charging the customer a safety deposit on the replacement item.

Saturday Air Processing Fee (Saturday Pickup)

1Day packages will be delivered the next business day, and 2Day packages will be delivered within two business days. If a Saturday pickup is scheduled but nothing is shipped, the Saturday Air Processing Fee will be assessed.

Saturday Delivery

Saturday Delivery is offered in select locations. Availability of Saturday Delivery may vary based on location of delivery address. Refer to EPISHIP for delivery areas.

Saturday Stop Charge – On-Call Pickup

With one pickup request, EPISHIP will pick up all of your packages at your residential or business location. Fees are applied per pickup request regardless of the number of packages being picked up.

Saturday Stop Charge – Scheduled Pickup

A driver automatically stops at your location once each Saturday, as scheduled. When paying for a Saturday Stop Charge Scheduled Pickup, customers in Saturday Ground Service areas may opt-in to receive eligible deliveries on Saturday.

Shipping Charge Correction Audit Fee

An audit fee is assessed when the average shipping charge correction during an invoice week is greater than $2.00 per package subject to a shipping charge correction. The fee will be calculated per account number, based on shipping charge corrections billed to the account number during the applicable invoice period. Does not apply to import shipments.

Signature

Driver will obtain the necessary signature on delivery, and include it with the mailed Delivery Confirmation information. For Signature Required packages only, an electronic authorization may be obtained to release the package without a signature on delivery.

Special Handling of Undeliverable Shipments

Domestic packages refused by the consignee, or which are undeliverable for any reason, will be returned to the shipper at the
shipper’s expense.

Third Party Billing Service

A fee applies to any shipment billed to a Third Party (regardless of the country of origin or destination of the shipment), and will be charged to the payer. Based upon all charges including transportation and accessorials. Excludes duties and taxes assessed by government authorities.

Truck Waiting Time

A trucking wait fee is assessed by the transporter if the amount of free waiting time expires. After free waiting time expires, a charge for additional time is applied on a prorated hourly rate.

Verbal Confirmation of Delivery

To confirm delivery of your shipment, a representative will call the preferred contact telephone number listed on your package.
